You no longer need a separate printer, fax and scanner for your office, because devices like the Canon MP500 combine all these functions into a compact, affordable system that produces professional-looking documents. One of the key features of the Canon MP500 is the integrated scanner. With the bundled MP Navigator software, you can use it to scan documents directly to your computer or to a memory device.
1.
Lift the lid of your scanner, place the document face-down on the glass, and then close the lid.
2.
Press the 'Scan' button on the front of the MP500.
3.
Select how you want to save the document. Choose 'Save to PC' to save it to your computer; 'Save as PDF' to save the document as a PDF file; or 'Attach to E-Mail' to automatically open your computer's email program and attach the scanned document.
4.
Select the 'Color' or 'Black' option from the scanner screen, depending on the type of document you want to scan. If this is the first time you are scanning a document, select the 'MP Navigator Software' option on the MP500's screen, and then select 'OK.' The scanner scans the document and saves it per your choice in Step 4.
